I know everyone likes ringtones and why wouldn’t they? It lets you personalize your phone. Lets face it, for most of us 9 our of 10 times our cell phones are the most expensive item on our person. I know my shoes are second most expensive; actually my shoes and jeans often compete, but my mobile is always a clear winner. I can fork out $500 bucks for phone, yet when it comes to a $3 ringtone I start relating to Scrooge. On any given day I am wearing clothes, including shoes, worth more than $200 - $250 yet I find a 3 dollar ringtone offensive.
Am I really that cheap?
Well its the principle of all you see! Why are the ringtones so bloody expensive? They are not even half a song. I could buy the entire song for 99 cents yet I must pay 2 to 3 times that amount for only a 20 or a 30 second segment of that song. Now call me stupid, but I don’t think thats fair math. If a 3 minute song cost me 1 dollar then by simple math a 30 second slice of it should cost me (someone please do the math) well not 3 times the amount.
So I say hell with this all — Let’s just get on with the free ringtones already!
